COTTON GAUZE
Cotton Gauze Fabric is commonly used for bandages in your first-aid kit but it's not limited to that. This collection is also popular for garments such as loose peasant tops and full skirts and dresses. It is also used by indie designers for baby slings and receiving blankets in hot climates. Often, this is referred to as Baby Muslin.
Gauze is a thin, translucent fabric with a loose open weave. In technical terms "gauze" is a weave structure in which the weft yarns are arranged in pairs and are crossed before and after each warp yarn keeping the weft firmly in place. This weave structure is used to add stability to fabric, which is important when using fine yarns loosely spaced. However, this weave structure can be used with any weight of yarn, and can be seen in some rustic textiles made from coarse hand-spun plant fiber yarns.
INSTRUCTIONS:
We always suggest prewashing the linens or fabrics before use. The Golden Rule suggests when you prewash fabrics, be consistent. For example, either prewash all your fabrics, or do not prewash at all. Cotton Gauze is machine washable. Wash on cool, gentle, no bleach. This 100% cotton should be cleaned in a tumble type washer on a cool, gentle cycle. Cotton fabrics tend to shrink. Pre-shrinking recommended. Please wash with care. We always suggest dry cleaning to preserve fabric life-cycle; in particular with Cotton Gauze.
